Event Description

Welcome the Year of the Rabbit with the San Francisco Symphony! Our annual Lunar New Year event draws upon Asian traditions, past and present, in a celebration of music and community. This year‘s program features two stellar artists: Korean-Canadian conductor Earl Lee and South Korean opera star, Sumi Jo. In both concert and in the recording studio, Ms. Jo’s stunning versatility across classical and pop has garnered her international acclaim, from her interpretations of the most demanding operatic roles, like Mozart’s Queen of the Night and Bellini’s Norma, to her platinum-selling solo album, Only Love, and her appearances at Olympic ceremonies across the globe.

Get the most out of your experience by reserving a Lunar New Year package, which includes special festivities and a stylish banquet. Sponsors of Lunar New Year support the San Francisco Symphony‘s artistic, education, and community programs. For more information, please call the SF Symphony Events Department at 415.503.5351.
